Jessica Johnson serves as the Vice President of External Affairs at Talon Metals, where she has been a vital part of the team since 2019. Based near the Tamarack Nickel Project in northern Minnesota, Jessica has advanced through roles of increasing responsibility in external engagement, building strong connections between the company and key stakeholders. She is responsible for all external company engagement (media, communities and government relations).Jessica brings a lifelong passion for fostering meaningful conversations about conservation and responsible resource use. Her work focuses on collaborating with stakeholders to advance innovative approaches for sustainable mining development.
Prior to joining Talon Metals, Jessica was the Program Coordinator at Long Lake Conservation Center. There, she educated students from across Minnesota on conservation practices and resource management, instilling environmental stewardship in the next generation. Earlier in her career, she served as a Naturalist with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, working in several state parks, including Itasca State Park, home to the iconic Headwaters of the Mississippi River.
Jessica earned her B.S. in Natural Resource Management and Communications from the University of Minnesota-Crookston. Her academic background, combined with her professional expertise, has made her a dynamic advocate for sustainable development and external engagement in northern Minnesota and beyond.
