Amanda Jepson joined Xcel Energy in 2002 as an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer at Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant and has over 20 years of experience in the Nuclear Industry. Throughout her career, she has held various leadership roles at Prairie Island. In her current role as Manager of Nuclear Strategic Regulatory Policy for Xcel Energy, she engages with state agencies, industry organizations, local elected officials and community members that influence, create, and enforce policies that impact Xcel Energy’s nuclear power plants and spent nuclear fuel storage. In addition to currently assisting with state regulatory projects to extend the operating life of Xcel Energy’s nuclear fleet, her other key positions at Prairie Island have included Director of Site Performance and Operations Support, System Engineering Manager, Instrumentation and Controls Maintenance Manager, and Licensed Operator Instructor.Amanda is a graduate from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch University. She received her Senior Reactor Operator Certification at the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant.
